With a turnover of about 12.8 Billion Euros and an annual production of 18 Million metric tonnes, approximately 3000 different paper grades are produced at 210 mills in Germany by some 46000 employees. The paper industry offers trained electro-engineers a particularly interesting field of work. Very modern production techniques demand high-tech in the field of electronic controls of the complicated production aggregates and for the electrical running of the large plants in paper production. Further challenges exist in the running of our own power plant to supply steam and electricity for the complete paper mill.
 
Through educational cooperation between the technical college Westküste in Heide and the training school with Aufbau course in Meldorf the following courses are offered, first vocational then extended to college:
